There have been major changes in weather over the past week with respect to peanuts. Very dry in many places last week, followed by rain this past weekend and early in the week and then tropical weather from Idalia. In some instances fungicide sprays were delayed due to dry weather and indications from the Leaf Spot Advisory system in North Carolina. Fields across many areas are now wet and it will take a few days to dry out to allow fungicides to be applied. The following dialogue is designed to help you make decisions on sprays moving into next week.

Jordan:

Dan, I think folks are all over the place with sprays and intervals between their last applications. What would you recommend for protection as people move into September? What would have a degree of curative action for leaf spot disease?

Anco:

Provost Silver by itself is a good option that would provide effective protection and some curative activity. Can add Microthiol Disperss sulfur (at least 3.75 lb/A of the sulfur) to further improve it but it adds extra work in mixing and sourcing and the Provost Silver by itself offers good protection. Priaxor or Revytek would also be effective options but would need to check prices to see how everything compares. Lucento has some curative activity as well and would add systemic activity that a Bravo-only spray would lack.
